I have a pair of budgies that always attack the others when they're in the same cage. I separated them and they get along fine at the playstand, but they always chase off the others off their perches, my male especially. I currently have 6 budgies; Buddy, Sky, Hedwig, Pastel, Sunny, and Angel. Buddy and Sky are the aggressive pair, any ideas on how to get them to bond better? I want to move them out of the smaller cage.

Hi and welcome to forum Do they fight with others in the cage only or even when they are out?

thanks, and they fight in the cage more than outside of it, but on the playstand they're better.

It seems that aggression can be exacerbated by crowding. If they don't feel they have enough personal space in the cage, they tend to get nasty with whoever else is around.
But are they being bullying, or are they just asserting their dominance? Hens tend to rule the roost and will hunt anyone sitting where they want to sit etc. As long as there is no damage being done, they are probably just sorting out their pecking order. But if they are causing damage to the others, check you have enough space for them all in the cage.

A much larger cage might resolve it, but as larger cages
are more expensive & it may not be the solution. I suggest
separation. Unfortunately there is no Pixie Dust you can
sprinkle to make them friends. As you say they play
together so it has to be a sleeping arraignment
personal space issue. Yours B.J.
