Just wondering if your budgie/ one of your budgies has ever seemed to hate someone you know? Weird question I know ;D but my Holly really, and I mean REALLY does not like my dad She bites him, strikes at him if he puts his fingers anywhere near her and has even been known to start ranting if she is on his hand or shoulder. Now she does bite me occasionally, she is after all a grumpy hen, but she really seems to dislike my dad Just ten minutes ago she was sat on his hand and because he moved his fingers slightly she latched on with her beak until he swore ;D So is anyone elses budgie like this or do I just have a weird one? The culprit looking like butter wouldn't melt

My Mikko only ever hurt one person, and that was a friend called Sandy of whom jokingly called him a name, went to put him on his head and got his ear bitten on the way past for his troubles! I also managed one in a million to capture the moment on camera!! They made up after however Soph.

Boo will not stop attacking my elderly mum's hands. I wouldn't say he hates her, but he just goes mental with her hands. It's very annoying. I thought it might be because her hands are wrinkly. I can't really explain it, but I wish he would stop.

I haven't had such experience. But it's true that they like and dislike people.

My Monts was one for not liking other men?! She loved my OH to bits, but any other male she seemed to shy away from. And if anyone like that DID go near her she would show them her open beak as a warning!

I can't say that any of mine show hatred towards anyone that's been in the house, but they do go very quiet if there is a face they don't recognise in the room- at least for a while anyway until they feel enough time has passed to accept the new face as friendly!

Totally agree if they land on my head I don't like it so I take them off and what do they do fly on my head again. I've had a budgie that hated everyone she would attack all that went near her even toys but we then realised she was blind

Pepito seems to like just about anyone. But he does have a thing about anyone sitting in one of our chairs! He keeps flying into the person's face or landing on them and giving them a good talking to. :-) And heaven help anyone who dares to sit in his Granny's chair! I think he's guarding it for her... :-)

I am no expert Rachel, but hen birds can be bitey at times as we know. But I have heard that some birds can see a human male as a possible mate (which is particularly strong in captive raptors). But don't know if this applies to budgies!

Glad its not just my Holly then ;D And I agree Sam with all hens being bitey, shes probably just being a grump lol. She does tend to like women more than men though, I am thinking of asking her previous owner if she ever bit men when she had her.
