Hi and welcome to forum Go through the stickies as there is a lot of good information. Looks like you have a very gorgeous boy. I can't tell the mutation from this picture. A few clear pictures would help.

My little girls named him/her rainbow, how can you tell if its a boy?
I bought a medium hagen cage and have spent hours on this forum reading up on all the info. Its very helpful and just cant wait to bring him/her home in about 3 weeks

Rainbow is gorgeous, lucky you! I can't help on mutations, I don't know any of that stuff! It's great that you can visit and interact with him so he is used to you and vice versa, you have obviously found a good breeder. The wait is always hard but it will be so great when you do get him home. Welcome onto the forum, I'm glad you're finding lots of good advice before you get your little guy home. Ask anything on here and someone will know!

It's tough to be 100% with a baby, but like BB said if the cere is pink now it will most likely turn into a lovely dark blue as he gets older- blue for a boy! Rainbow will suit a boy or a girl so it was a good name choice!

its good that he's been handled from a chick, should make it a doddle to tame him.
take it slow with him and give him chance to settle in, then try to offer seeds or millet on ur hand, he'll be hopping on your hand within a few days hopefully!

Thanks, i hope he has a nice nature. Where do you think the best place to put him/her in the house? Since they are flock animals, they want to be were you and the family are - to be a constant part of the action. So wherever that is in your house - usually the living or sitting room. You want to be able to interact as much as possible. The kitchen is generally not a good place, because of all the dangers in there and potential fumes and whatnot. Non-stick pans and roasting trays like teflon are dangerous too - if they burn they give off fumes highly toxic to budgies. I have an open plan kitchen/living area, so not much choice. Probably the best place to put their cage is so they are about on eye level when you are sitting down, so on a table is good. Too low down and they feel unsafe and anxious. Birds like to be up on their perches so they can check out the territory to be safe from predators.

Hi, welcome to the forum! Rainbow looks gorgeous As others have said it is hard to tell the mutation from that photo, I could guess but it wouldn't be definite. Would you be able to get a clearer photo?
