I have a hen that is clicking while breathing, i've had her in a hospital cage for 24hrs and gave her a dose of Spot on on the back of the neck.
The Spot on is harkers 'Harka Mectin' it says 3.5% on the box, what i'm reading on the forum this sounds to strong, could i water it down, and how often should it be given.
Any other advice would be welcome. rob.

3.5% is way too strong. That's formulated for larger animals. I believe that strength dose could be dangerous.
You need 0.1% for tiny birds.
I don't know if it can be watered down, and I doubt it from memory. It may not mix with water, so don't try doing that unless someone who knows what they are talking about tells you it's okay.

It cannot be watered down Rob, buy ivermectin 0.1% , dosed all birds on the crop wall , the clicking are air sac mites that can stop the bird/s breathing, all birds will need to be treated.

I gave the hen a drop of Ivermechin 0.1% a couple of days back and the clicking has calmed down. Whats happening now is she's eating all the time and bringing up the gooey stuff and eating it again. rob.
