If anyone has just been watching the game, such bad luck for the Welsh! One man down and only one point the difference. So France into the final, and tomorrow it is the fight across the ditch - All Blacks v Wallabies......with the amount of support happening in NZ for the home team, I kind of want them to get up..........(but don't tell the Aussies). I was impressed with the support for the All Blacks all over NZ (and the Webb Ellis Cup in general) with very few houses not flying a flag and many flying more than one mostly of different alliances. Sorry for the dragons.

The only thing I know about Rugby that all players look quite big. That's so you can see them from afar. Those pitches are huge. Am I right Hezz?

Something like that! 100 metres end to end (the pitch, not the player, he, he). The players are usually pretty fit, with the exception of the forwards.....the big men come to the fore....

Rugby for beginners. The big mothers are the forwards. They do the scrums, and all the pushing and shoving. The backs can be a lot smaller. The really small ones (comparatively) do all the fancy passing. The medium sized ones run like the clappers with the ball to score a try (usually).
The All Blacks were originally the All BACKS. Meaning they ran a dynamic, fast paced game, passing the ball out wide and with lots of fast runs up the side of the 'paddock' to score, rather than relying on defending. They still play like that.

I was watching too Hezz and rooting for the Welsh. Didnt the fans sing Delilah well ?? Our youngest son plays for his county team - only 5'9" and 10 and a half stones- relies on speed.

I missed the beginning of the game, but I too was rooting for Wales. I am not a huge union or league fan (too many boofheads) but after seeing the amount of support thrown behind the home team in NZ - it's a big thing for a little country and they seem to be doing an admirable job of hosting it too. Of course I would have liked to see the Wallabies and All Blacks in the final, but I do hope (sort of : that the All Blacks are in the final for a win. Ps I know your son wouldn't be one of the boofheads.

It's a shame the Welsh didn't get through. I love their singing.

Now NZ needs to give those French a good going over with a baguette! Deservedly. And the All Blacks had better damn well bring it home!!! (But nailed it to ya in the League!!! :))

Sorry for the Welsh members of the forum - you put up a really great fight. And thanks for being there. Who's going to take home the Webb Ellis Cup?
