Thanks guys, hes a little love. His poop looks better today, less runny and more normal looking. Ive ordered some guardian angel of the internet, the sooner it comes the better. He looks a bit thin still, I assume thats because of his loose bowels, can anyone suggest foods which will help him gain some weight. Im still unsure as to whether its a girl or a boy, I've heard its more difficult to sex a lutino, Heres a photo of his nose closer up. He/she has the red eyes too. Thanks everyone, glad I joined the forum now.

Hi Kerry. Some hard-boiled egg is full of protein, or you can get some commercial egg-food (dried) that you can sprinkle over his seed dry, or moisten it a little a feed to him separately. If you moisten it, make sure to remove any left-overs after a few hours, as it can go bad. Some like it dry others moistened, so try both, or cook an egg for around 12-15 minutes, cool and mash up. Concentrate on giving him the yolk over the white, as that is where all the nutrients are. If you cook him an egg, you can also remove the membrane from the shell, grind it up and give him some of this with it.

Hi guys, I put some egg yolk in the cage but he doesn't want to know. He went to eat it, but turned his nose up at it. Hes still looking thin. does anyone know any websites where I can buy some kind of seed mix, with dried bits in- a really good brand would be good.
I thought he was getting better, but I've just noticed he's now limping on one foot, and when he panicked he flew out of the cage and into the wall, making his nose bleed. Ive locked the cage (much to my other birds dismay) and placed him in one of those cosy bird things, which he likes, and covered the cage.
His poop is definately more solid now, but hes not cleaning himself much, so hes still in a mess.
Theres no abnormality in his foot, no redness or hotness, just he holding it up.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Wilson is a gorgeous little budgie! I'm so glad he seems to be improving. You've had great advice and Barrie knows his stuff so I'm sure Wilson will soon be in excellent health. Baby budgies can be clumsy when they are learning to fly around in new surroundings so you need to be careful. If he's limping keep him in the cage to rest his foot, he's probably hurt it somehow but it should recover on its own if he rests it. You may need to clean the poops off the feathers around his vent if they build up as I believe they can become blocked by dried poop. I've never had to do that myself though so someone else will likely know and advise you if you're not sure about how to do it. There's lots of interesting info on this forum and Barrie's website is excellent. :-)

Remember that budgies don't always go straight for food you may offer. You may have to offer him some eggfood a number of times before he bothers to try it. The same goes for veggies - you can try, and try and try and about the time you decide they are never going to eat something, that's when they go crazy over it!
