Hi, Im new to the forum and I thought I could get some advice. I have a baby lutino budgie who is around 6/7 weeks old. I've had him/her for a week now and his poo seems to be very runny, and he sleeps most of the day. He drinks quite a lot and hes still eating(although very slowly). His underside is a mess, which I though could be down to his runny tummy and his want to sleep lying down . His feathers are fluffed up and I can feel his chestbone. There should be a photo attached, taken a few days ago. I have seen a vet this morning who prescribed antibiotics and probiotics of which i'm giving him. The vet didnt seem to know what was wrong with him, so I wondered what you guys thought, and if you have any advice you could give me. Thanks, Kerry Attachments:

Hi Kerry welcome to the forum. I don't know enough to provide advice on your current situation, but I'm sure someone will be able to provide insight. Did you see an avian vet? Is there one in your area? He sure is a cutie!! What's his name? Did you get him from a breeder? Wishing he gets better soon, we'd love to see more pics of him.

Hi and welcome to forum Is he having the same diet as he was with the breeder? Which antibiotics and probiotics did the vet prescribed? Do you have an avian vet in your area?

Hi, thanks.
It wasnt an avian vet , the nearest avian vets are about 50mins away. his names Wilson, but not sure if its a girl yet, but the cere seems to be going blueish. Hes a lovely bird and very tame thats why Im seeking as much advice on his condition. will get some more photos of him up soon. He was from a private breeder, and not sure about his diet before i got him. I know he had only been out of the nest a week and been eating solids for a week when I got him (a week ago)
The probiotics are avipro plus, and not sure what the antibiotics are but its says Baytric oral on the label.

When a baby budgie becomes seperated from its parents and siblings it will then become stressed, new enviroment , struggles to find the seed and water, suppy Guardian angel in the water.
keep the bird cage covered in a quiet, warm area of the house.
Baytril is for bacterial infections

I had a feeling he may be stressed from the move since he came from a big avary and is so young. Hes eating well, he knows where to go and I've put lots of food in pots all over the cage. Hopefully his stomach will clear up soon. I have booked him in to see an avian vet, but the earliest I could get in was Thursday, so hopefully I wont need to go if he starts improving over the next few days. really appreciate the advice, Kerry

I don't think you need a vet Kerry , add a tub of guardian angel to your shopping list

He is a gorgeous little bird, Kerry. Poor little mite, hope he is just having "settling in" pains and becomes more active and playful as the days go by.
