My female Budgie (Nellie) was found dead this morning. She had been unwell but we were giving her Baytril via mouth from the vets. She had been producing watery dropping and had been fluffed up but eating well and moving around normally. She developed "slight tail bobbing" but as of last night was still pretty perky. This morning it looks like she had just dropped off her perch?? My local vets are unable to do tests on the droppings as they do not have enough to sample, but tonight her male friend (although perky and looking healthy) is starting to develop a pooey bum and I have no idea whats causing it. I have no avian vets nearby?? Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks

I have no suggestions to offer, Lottiel. That isn't a whole lot to go on, and without a vet to help out, it is hard to give any other advice. If you can post up a photo of your budgie's poops maybe it will help someone give you some advice. So sorry you have lost your hen, and sincerely hope you don't end up losing your cock as well.

In the first instance your cage and contents need to be cleaned and disinfected, use F10SC

Thank you, cock is now booked into vets to see if anything further can be done. Can f10sc be purchased widely? I've always disinfected the cage with bird safe disefectant but just concerned this could be something nasty.
