All you have to do in the next few weeks is to provide them with fresh water and food, and they will be fine. They know what to do. Provide them with privacy, like their cage should not be in a hall way etc.

There are quite a few reasons for egg binding and lack of calcium is only one of them. Some birds are just prone to egg binding. Bird's age is also relevant to egg binding. Trauma or infection to the bird's reproductive system can also cause egg binding. A bird which does not get enough exercise, fat or unfit bird can also become egg bound. Because the muscles will not be strong enough to expel the egg. Some environmental factors like hypothermia can also be the cause of egg binding. Its a condition in which the body temperature is much lower than normal. These are all possible causes but as I said before in most cases the cause is a shortage of calcium

The main cause is of egg binding is shortage of calcium in the hen's body.
