We have had our new budgie for 2 weeks. He seems to be adjusting, and my wife is finger taming him. I noticed that he stays in one place for hours and so far doesn't churp much. He has stripes all the way to his cere indicating that he is very young. Also, I'm not so sure if it is a he. The cere is light blue. He is blue/gray in color. Is it too soon to accurately determine the sex? Our previous budgie alway had a blue cere from day one.

Have you got a decent camera? Good phone camera? Post close up pictures of the cere, in natural light (no flash) on a macro setting, if you have one.
There are several people on here who have a lot of experience in sexing young birds.

Blue cere indicates male, as you say it is.
