Hello again, Please could I ask some advice again? As explained in my first post, sadly althought Bob laid eggs none survived more than a few days, due to one thing or another. They were all gone by the 6/10/11, and no more have been laid since. I'm was glad in a way as she was looking a bit scraggy, I'm happy to say she is now looking good again , so having said all that what I really want to know, is it normal for her to still be spending almost 24/7 in the nesting box. which is what she has been doing since she laid the eggs, if I look in the box she is sitting as though she is on eggs, but of course there are none., Bluey is in there with her a lot of the time, she does have a fly around a few time and day, and is eating, although Bluey is feeding her, is this normal and ok, will she lay more eggs if so when She is eating the cuttle fish like crazy, and her poo is very large again. I'd be so grateful for some answers.Thank you

The cock feeds her all the time so this is fine.

Eating cuttlefish Big poop Spending time in the nest box Being fed by cock These are all indications that she is getting ready to lay again. When? I would say pretty soon. Did you spot them mating?

Thank you so much for the replies, not seen any mating this time round, but I'm sure they have, so I'll wait and hope we get some chicks this time and let you know.

Thank you so much, just one more quick question for now, should I give them grit, I've looked online some say yes, some say no, I have never given them grit, but want to do the very best for them. If the answer is yes, how much and how often, bearing in mind we only have Bob and Bluey. Some advice would be very much appreciated.

Yes it is so confusing to see different views on websites. It's about soluble and insoluble ones. Barrie has explained it very well to rectify any confusions.
