Hi Hezz, so sorry to read about the scare with Smudge. Hopefully it won't be anything too serious.
Could the dried grass be from dogs using it instead of it being sprayed? When my dad sprays the weeds they usually die and brown within a day or 2. Can you ask the owners? Just casually mention you had seen beautiful green grass and now it's brown and wondered about the cause.
BTW I LOOOOVE the little ducky sounds. lol.
Good luck next week.

Hezz I know exactly the sounds you mean! Bubbles made them all last week when we had to give her her meds!

Is it a girl thing? ? Neither of my boys have made this noise ever! To be honest, I am not terribly, or rather, less, worried about the grass. I walk in the early morning while it is still dark - when the grass started to die off, I don't know for sure, and I do know most herbicides are quick working. Of course all grasses have been washed - but that is not going to rid the plant of herbicides that the plant has taken up!!! I know who (supposedly) owns the blocks, but they are all being treated differently now, but have no way of contacting him anyway............... from my experience, wouldn't be bothered answering or getting in touch one way or the other! Nani, the only dog up that way is my own, lol, and thanks. Poor Bubbles, how is she, Sarah? Thanks you everyone, for your kind thoughts. Smudge is still preening herself beautiful, so, so far, it isn't effecting the gland, or herself in general - it hasn't gotten to a size to be a nuisance yet. Hopefully we can keep it that way.

That's a worry Hezz but I'm sure all will be fine. I hope Smudge's problem is a minor one and she gets on ok next week.

Glad all seems well regarding the grass and Smudge's health. Bubbles seems ok thanks Hezz, but I still worry that it might be just a reprieve. Usually I feel a bit more confident after a couple of weeks have passed- I'm quite slow to celebrate good news, it is my way to be a worrier! Looking forward to hearing good news about Smudge though!

Haven't heard back from the vet yet, but it could take a few days for her to get her second opinion. I do need to know though - it is worrying.

I have about another week to keep an eye on them, Mick, but agree that signs would be there by now.
It's Smudge's gland that is causing me more and more concern, only because I haven't heard back. Poor little girl is being watched like a hawk. Is she fluffing herself more than normal; is she preening the way she should be; do her feathers still lovely and fresh; is it getting bigger/redder/anything.

Poor Smudge and poor you too Hezz. Time really drags when you have to wait for something important. I expect you want the news and are dreading it in equal measure at the moment?

It's causing me to be a bit short tempered with other things too. There is so much going on with the family at the moment, and I want to be able to concentrate on Smudgy, but wish the "thing" would just go away! I am still waiting - she doesn't work every day unfortunately.
