oh goodness me,yesterday Elfie brought up some of his seed again...It wasn't as much as the last time this happened, last time he couldn't stop and LOADS were coming out, this time he must have done it a few times in the day and once in the evening a 3-4 seeds were coming up but still got me worried...i have phoned the vet and have him booked in for Monday...Today he seems totally fine,he has eaten and is playing and making alot of noise so i am hoping it was just a one of and maybe he had something stuck as he has been chewing and stripping the bark of his perch... Any way fingers crossed

He could have just overeaten, Lilek did this once and there was so much seed, I didn't think it would stop coming out! But you're right to consult a vet. Fingers crossed x

Oh, Moogie, not the Elf! He isn't trying to get cute with something, is he? He must be about that age.......... not onto a shiny surface, mirror or whatever? But whenever Bluey did this on a surface, he ate it up again .......... Sparky has always managed to find someone willing to take his - first Blue and now Smudge. Lucky boy, he is well-loved.
I do hope it is just something like Elfie reaching that particular age, but will be looking for your GOOD news from the vet after your Monday visit. Fingers and feathers crossed. xx

From what you've said, it sounds like typical regurgitation/feeding to me - acting out his natural instinct to feed a mate or chick but substituting his favourite toys.

Thanks Stace I didnt see him actually do it to a toy but he was sat near to one, when he kisses the perches ect its when he is normally excited and chirping 9never brings up seeds) ....He was just sat and i thought he was going to yawn but instead brought the seed up!??

Yeah, it does sound like he is getting to that stage and regurgitating. How old is Elfie now? Is he bobbing his head and raising his head feathers? On the top of his head where his comb would be if he had one? The fast-paced kisses and pecks certainly fits with this. Vomiting is so different and does go everywhere because they shake their heads from side to side. I feel more confident now that Elfie is just wanting to feed a mate and show how good a father he would be. But the vet will give you peace of mind. Let us know how you get on.

When he talks to me and him self he raises his head feathers,(you make me laf Hezz,a budgie comb) Well when we got him he was around 3-4 months so he will be coming up to a year September.... As i am away again in September i put off getting him a friend as i wont to be able to concentrate on what i need to do with the pair of them...The Breeder has already called me with a little green budgie that was ready for a new home but i had to say no which was very hard but the right thing to do for now until I'm back from holiday.., she is going to call me middle of September so Elf can have a little friend YAAAAAY!! i just want him to have budgie company, feel it fairer ... Any way he has not brought up any more seed,i cant think if he was head bobbing when he did but i know it looked like he was going to yawn...

I think all is fine with the Elf'ster, myself. So sorry you had to put off getting his little friend - ohhhhh another Sparky, sounds like! But much better you have the time to give both.
