Hi to all the members on Budgerigars Forum :)I've already posted on here so gone about things the wrong way! I was searching for some answers online and got all the info I needed on here, thanks !!I have a laying hen and am trying to learn as much as possible to ensure (hopefully) healthy chicks. I'm totally new to breeding budgies........fish, yes! My son brought our first budgie home just over a year ago, he literally landed at his feet whilst at work so he popped him in a box and was told to take him to the RSPCA, which he did via our house ;)We put him in with our 16 year old cockatiel (he loved the attention) and advertised him as found. As the days passed I hoped he wouldn't be claimed as I had become attached to him. When nobody contacted me I bought a large indoor aviary for them. They looked a bit lost in their huge cage so to cut a long story short we now have 9 budgies with our cockatiel We thought they were all cocks but one is a hen (a mauve greywing with a yellow head, I think) and so very compatible with a normal green cock. They're now in a breeding cage and have 8 eggs so far. The rest of the family consists of 3 dogs, 11 yrs, 6yrs and 4yrs, two 17 year old cats a 5 yr old African Grey and numerous fish that won't keep still long enough to count! Once again thank you for all the help so far.
