Hi - it has been a while since I've been on here! Anyway, a few months ago I got Booji a buddy and named him Bongo. I am thinking it is time to put them in the same cage (right now they are side by side in separate cages). They fly around together outside of the cages, and Booji will go over to Bongo's 'house' (he is a very pushy neighbor) but Bongo has not yet popped in to visit Booji. Observing them together they seem to bond quite nicely with some squawking and screeching now and then, but no major tussles. And Booji is still interacting the same way with me as he did pre-Bongo and he is talking now too! He says 'Booji!' and 'Love you love you love you!' I am working with Bongo who is not really a timid bird, but a bit cautious, so things have moved slowly with his training. It is funny how they are 2 totally different personalities! I am considering 2 different size cages and was hoping to get some opinions/advice. I have grown to appreciate the Vision cage (surprisingly because I hated it initially) but am open to suggestions if the size is right. Booji is currently in one 24Lx15Wx21H. I am considering for both together either a 30Lx15Wx22H or a 30Lx15Wx37H. Any thoughts which may be better? Obviously one is considerably higher, but not sure how much that matters with budgies. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Jackie P.S. I will post some pics when I get a chance - very busy summer here!

Hi Jackie, and welcome to Bongo. Is Bongo male too? I say this every time ( Predictable!) Get the biggest cage you can afford - both money-wise and space-wise. I am presuming you are quoting inches, being in US? The extra height does come in useful at times, I find. Some people will tell you their budgies never use the bottom half of their cages, but I think it depends how you set it up. My two have a huge cage and they use it all. They zig-zag back and forth top to bottom, side to side. I set it up so there are two levels of perches, leaving room between the top and bottom so the bottom perch doesn't get pooped on. When I put veggies out or bark for them to chew up, I peg these to the side of the cage close to a perch, high or low, they don't mind which. Hope this helps.

Hi Hezz! Yes that helps alot - and oops yes that is inches. And yes 'Itty Bitty Bongo' is a male - probably about 6-7 months old now... He is so funny - he always tries to appear cool, calm and debonair but usually has a wayward feather or 2 sticking out of the side of his head. Again I will get pics up here soon. I think too the more room the better in the cage - I guess even if it is in height. I have to use a style that I can place on a fairly high surface due to our dogs. So I will probably need a little perch of my own to reach the upper level - but that's ok! For some reason it seems to be challenging around here finding large (square) cages with small bar spacing. I have been looking online at some but think I may stick with the Vision - I like the style of the doors. Thanks again - as always you are so helpful!

Hello Boojman - I just bought my cage from Zooplus. I haven't got the link right now, but you could google search them. I bought the Ferplast Piano 6 mainly for the width 85cm wide, 70cm high and 45cm deep. I thought that width would give the birds plenty of flight space. I am planning to have 4 budgies, so this particular cage may be too big for your requirements. But as I said Zooplus have been fantastic, price (lots of discounts) and brilliant service. Not sure if they are internnational - but give them a try.

Hello Like Hezz says, your cage can never be too big. There may be some times in the future when they have to be kept caged. For whatever reason....B.J.
