This is my first pet bird so I know very little about it, gender included. If anyone could tell me the definite sex of this bird and also even just a little about the colour morph, I'd be very grateful.

Hi and welcome to forum Your budgie looks like Lutino to me but just one picture is not enough. A few more pictures and some detail like eyes color would help.

Welcome to the forum Olliepm! I agree with BB need to see the eye colour. Not sure what other forum members think but I would hazard a guess this is a hen bird? Hopefully other experienced members will confirm it for you Looking forward to hearing about and seeing more pics of your birdie

Thanks for the replies! I will get more pictures up at some point but I'm only just getting used to having a bird in general. I'm used to keeping reptiles. I think this might end up a new obsession because I have always wanted toucans...
Anyhoo, I thought it was a Lutino from google image searches, but it's mainly the gender I'm really interested in. I hope someone on here can say for sure?

At the moment I have Two Amazon tree boas, a Tokay gecko, and a Bosc monitor. Other than these I've kept more Tokays, corn snakes, White's tree frogs, and a Green bottle blue tarantula. Tokays are my favourite =] What about you?

It's eyes did look a bit red in certain light, but in this picture they look black. I'll need to have another look tomorrow, but usually they seem dark to me. Is it a subtle red or unmistakeable we're talking?

Barrie is right. In this second picture, it looks like "Double Factor Spangle Hen".

So we're sure about hen either way? That's what I'd really like to know so I can give it an appropriate name. Thunder Wing Doom Slayer is a mouthful. Also, the eyes do look pinky/red in natural light from the window, but not from lamp light. I can't really get a picture but I'll keep trying next time it's out. I appreciate all the help, by the way! =]

I have concluded that the eyes are NOT red.

The eyes of a Lutino budgie should look like THIS or THIS.
