I just rang Peter Allan estate agent and they checked thier agreement and a cat is allowed ..... the girl I spoke to said they are due for an inspection of the property on 3rd oct and she will mention the cat flap to them because she checked up and these youngsters havent been in touch about putting one in . well done julie lets hope they get the cat flap put in ...at least you contacted the right people ...so they no there is a problem ... and ruby... i no not all cats have fleas....but when they do it goes in every part of your home and the first thing you no about it .... is when you start getting bit by these little sods ...it costs about £250...to get your house fumigated and some times you have to get it done twice ...as it only kills the hatched fleas not there eggs ....iv worked for a few landlords in the past and thats how i no ... dont get me wrong i love cats and wouldnt hert one ...but they can be a pain with fleas ...

Thats a good tip Ruby. Up until recently I had a cat (I had to have her put to sleep - she was 21 years old, deaf, and had dementia! I loved her to bits tho!!) Anyway, I digress. My cat has always had a little house in the garden for her to sit in and she loved it. I bought one from the pet shop it was a 'small animal' house and you can put carpet or cushion in it or both BUT as MickMay says - it's HER PROBLEM - NOT YOURS. But you could nicely make some suggestions to the neighbours??

Oooooh thanks for the info on fleas Mick!! (sat scratching now) So glad we haven't got any lol, I'm not surprised you feel strongly about the little 'sods' . Aw Shirls what a good age for your cat!! she was very lucky to have a long and happy life.

I actually like cats and my son and his family have a lovely cat called Rosie and I wouldnt harm anyones cat and this is the problem I DONT want my dogs to harm this cat next door . And I had suggested to them about the plastic outdoor storage cuboard thats there that they could put a bed in there for her so she had somewhere to go .. but have they done it .... no

Your neighbours should be aware that you also have the safety of their cat in mind here. You don't want to be responsible for one of your dogs killing it after all. You need to reiterate that point to them. If one of your dogs slips past you one day it will be too fast for the cat and that will be that. They need to take more responsibility for the safety of their pet!
