Hi, I'm new here We recently adopted Perty from the local RSPCA. The previous owner apparently said Perty was a 4 year old male, but I'm not sure! Perty's a very confident budgie and we already think the world of him/her! Hopefully a few photos below and I'd value any thoughts of the experts here...

Ah well done! Perty looks beautiful. Now I don't know much but I don't think the cere looks blue- more white/pale blue in the picture is that right? My GUESS would be a lovely little girl but I could very easily be wrong.... There are plenty of people that know about budgies and can give you the correct gender and will probably drop in on your thread soon!...

Thanks for your comments - yes, the cere is a very light blue at the sides, but white/cream towards the centre.

Thank you! I think we can continue to call her Perty, as it's quite a pretty name for a girl.

What a lovely budgie, Perty, and so good that you have taken her home from the RSPCA. I am sure you will get a lot of pleasure from her and her from you. Keep us up to date with pics and antics!

Yes. Hen. Their ceres can go from brownish to that washed out blue/white colour when they are out of breeding condition.
