How sad am I that I am exited about my cement coming tomorrow ;D I will be so glad to see it down as the dogs have been using it as a play area this week and been digging through it, which now means I have some black mud marks all over the paving slabs that dont come off when I hose them down.

Gutted !!!! lorry came with the delivery this morning and couldnt get up the back lane to our house , there is a caraven parked at the side of a house on the end that was up too far which meant the back wheels on the left side of the lorry were on a mud part and couldnt get a grip wwe tried putting stones and old flag stones under the wheel but no . the back wheel was just spinning so the lorry driver took the other delivery`s and came back hoping with it being lighter it would manage it but no .. I rang around other yards that have smaller lorries but no one could do it today so its got to be next saturday now so really peeded off .. Hoping we can get the guy who owns the caraven to move it down a bit he isnt there today so hoping he be there by next week he`s not the nicest of guys as tends to think he owns the whole lane but he doesnt

How frustrating for you!!! Why are some people so awful? Although to be fair, he probably didn't know you needed the whole thorough fair for the concrete truck. Good luck for next week.

Thanks Mick there`s some good ideas with the wire there . We saw the guy who lives on the end of the lane and who owns the caravan and he started kicking off again about it being his land blah blah it all started over the big steel shed that him and his son put at the bottom of our garden and next doors about 15 yrs ago and they noticed the boy next door had chained his motor bike to it so my hubby said the boys bike was on his own land and that the shed was on the boys land anyway but that give him reason to kick off about him owning all the ground he`s been like it for years and had many arguments with her neighbours over the same thing, but its a public right of way and we have been here 38 yrs and I have got our deeds and I know there is a section behind our back gate and garden that belongs to us and that the lane is a public right of way and we all own a section of it but we cant stop anyone using it.... All I am hoping is he doesnt park something there and will stop us getting another delivery next week.. if he does I will be calling the police... I cant understand why people act in this way we don't cause any problems to him or anyone and all we want to do is getting on with leading a quiet life .

Delivery arrived only for it to be a bigger lorry than last weeks company even though I specifically asked for the smallest and rang again on thursday to remind them He had to dump the stuff further down the lane and hubby and son in law and son have had to wheel barrow it up tough going for them. the guy on the end house cant be there because he never came out thank god!!! but then we had the old fella up the top come down shouting and bawling thinking we were going to be blocking the lane which it wasn't because the lorry dropped it in an area that was tucked back not in the way of anyone, he was ranting away that he was going to phone police I think police have far more important things to look into like today policing the Swansea city vs Everton game at the Liberty just down the road from us.....why is it these old guys are so pathetic and have to make a song and dance over trivial things.. we ourselves are in our 50`s and wouldn't dream of kicking up a fuss over something so small

Glad you finally have your concrete, albeit with a lot of hard work from the men of the family! I am sure it was all worth it!

Typical b****y dogs! Have to be included in everything. ;D Did you leave them there, or smooth it over, Julie? I'd be tempted to leave them there, but that would make it harder to keep clean.

Love the greyhound design feature ;D Shame about your neighbours tho, but loved what Mick said about the caravan miraculously going up in smoke on 5th Nov! Those pesky neighbours have basically got nothing else to do with their time. Its probably the only thing that has happened in their life recently that has been of interest and they decide to complain about it for something to do. Sad. I hope I don't get like that when I am older?! ;D
