Little Thala is looking worse for wear. 3 wks of med , vet gave me moreobit for first time today and yest that I'm aware of she is sick. Poo was runny for few days but normal over night. Has been eating but appetite poor yest. Vet says med could be upsetting her tum. We were giving it to her, at vets suggestion on food, but when she wasn't significantly improving I started orally on tue. She was still flying and preening bit that's reduced. What to do? Am I just prolonging the pain or is she getting better? I can't stand watching her this way. What to do? If there are any experienced members on with advise I'd greatly appreciate. Thank you.

trouble with a budgie is that once they have 'symtons' they most likely been poorly for some time xxx

Hi Barrie. Took her to vet on 28 aug. she said bacterial And yeast infection. Given flygl, baytril and nystatin. She gave her crop wash to detect and after it she was much perkier for a day or two. As new budgie owner I found it difficult to give her med as syringe was large 1ml. It also stressed her out. Vet then told me to give it to her on food or let her preen it off. Did this for two weeks. Spoke vet again who said that she was surprised she was still with us. (given 50/50 chance). When she was no worse no better I started to try orally again, that was tue. She seemed to go down hill after that. Few runny poos. Vet said could be tummy upset. Last night and today she has started to be sick. (white I presume is sick, sort of like saliva at first and she shakes it off). Until yesterday she was still eating and preening. Today (this eve) she is still eating and drinking ,some, but seems very off balanced. still keeping her warm. Have not given her med today as decided this morn that she was in such a bad way she wasn't going to make it thro the day. However she's still here. Sad and confused.

the needs to be dosed with "thricho plus" directly into the crop for 7 days , isolated and kept warm

So sad. I hope little Thala gets better soon. It hurts to see them suffer in silence. Keep us posted. Sending good thoughts
