We keep our budgies in the conservatory, when its sunny I open the french doors and push the cage right into the open space. They love it but unfortunately our neighbours don't!!(don't know if you've read any of my posts on 'complaints from neighbours') you all seem to have better neighbours than me, please can I come and live next-door lol Certainly Ruby! Better than the yappy little dog and the boy with NO volume control. What is it with little dogs? All the big dogs in our neighbourhood are contained as is required, but those with little (usually yappy) dogs think it is okay for them to roam!!!!! Why??? Give me bird noise any day, to yappy little dogs yapping at all and sundry in someone else's front yard! Please, come and live beside me, Ruby?!!?!

Oh dear Hezz I don't think you'll want me to come and live near you when I tell you I have a little yappy dog lol. He doesn't roam though and he's told to shut up quickly if he starts to bark which is only when someone comes to the house. Even though we have 3 dogs I must admit yapping gets on my nerves too!

That is a different story, Ruby. It is the many who roam up and down the street - and of course they don't get off the road! and yap at everyone else who does have a right to come and go! Ahhhhh
Our very short street has four yappers and four big dogs (who only bark when someone come up their driveway). The four little dogs are all over the place and indiscriminate barkers. When the big dogs bark we all know a stranger is in the neighbourhood.

I try to get my bird out in the sun every day or every other day, if possible. His whole cage gets lifted out to the balcony for around an hour, if it's sunny. It's nice dappled sunlight too, so he's not getting frazzled. I never leave him alone out there either, in case the big nasty birds decide he looks like a delicious budgie breakfast. He really enjoys it. Right now he's on his favourite 'tuft' chatting away in Buglish and communing with nature. And I know it's good for his health and resistance to disease and bugs. If you don't have access to a sunny spot, the next best thing is Vit D supplements. Here he is this morning...
