Sweetie is still moulting and it seems every time her pins feathers are gone a whole new batch pushes through, seems like she has about a million right now they look so nasty and itchy I feel so awful for her wish I could do something for her it must be driving her mad. Ah well, she is enjoying a lot of scratches from me lets hope she will be done soon poor little pin cushion lol xx

Awww, I hate this stage! I feel like it's particularly bad with the exhibition type birds.

I have some that moult just fine and others that obviously have a tough time. Poor little things, hope Sweetie is finished soon!

Hard and soft feather can mean a short or a longer moult , feed protein foods as extras and offer regular misting with tepid waater

They can look terrible, can't they. I find that some moults are much worse than others. I don't have years of experience with this, but it also seems that some of the early young moults as they go into adulthood can be particularly bad.

My Alfie goes through terrible moults! More than once I have had the shock of my life when one of his blood feathers have burst and he has splattered blood everywhere! As long as you offer Sweetie lots of baths and spray her with tepid water plus lots of scritches she will get through it

Pepito gets bleeding pin feathers in his head when he moults. Thankfully it never seems to bleed much but he does look a bit more scruffy with it. He takes a bath most times I put it out for him but if he's moulting and doesn't want a bath I spray him with tepid water and he seems to like that too. Unfortunately he doesn't like to be stroked! :-(
