Thank god I was in when this happened this afternoon Beauty and Bobby were having a mad flutter around the cage and next thing the bath fell off exposing the open cage door I was sitting underneath the cage and got soaked but I shot up to close the cage door as the back door was open I was so lucky they didnt fly out but can you imagine if I had gone out and that had happened the dogs would have gone balistic and prob would have killed them.. I wont be using those baths again and will buy different ones Has anyone else had this happen to them I have posted a link to the type of bath it was www.ebay.co.uk/itm/happypet-Multicage-Pet-Bird-Bath-Budgie-Finch-Canary-/150762399092?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Birds&hash=item231a23a574

Crikey how did it fall off? There is a little hook bit at the bottom that goes over the bar in the door entrance... if that is hooked on and the plastic panels are properly "weaved" in and out of the bars above the door it has always seemed very sturdy to me...

Mine hangs on with a wing and a prayer, the door is taller than the plastic panels. I clip mine on to the door from above, would never trust it though.

as you say lucky you were there ..... .. i suppose you could try putting a few cloths pegs on the next bar up .... and see if that holds it in place .... failing that... put it in the cage with the door shut...

Your picture link is a bit small (or it's my eyes!) but I use these www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=budgies+bath&x=17&y=17I haven't had any trouble although they don't quite fit properly they do hook over the door! I did have a problem when I left one seed 'pot' empty for some reason and Sid got out, I mean how clever is that, it's not very big but he saw a chance and flew straight upstairs and onto my bed where I found him like yourself, fortunately I was at home in another room but heard this flutter and panicked!!

I have always held the bath in place myself when using this type. Many, many years ago, my budgie managed to slide it to the side enough to wriggle out. The door to the garden was open but luckily he flew into the hallway & up the stairs where we managed to close all the room doors. It was scary enough to never trust those baths again!
I am so glad Beauty & Bobby didn't take advantage of the open door!
