I am so happy, pickle has started to talk and copy all sorts. He says "what you doing", "hello pickle" and is trying to say "good boy" he also wolf whistles and tutt tuts. We have of course worked really hard at this but it is starting to pay off. Trying to teach him "give us a kiss" next. Just wondered too what things do any of yours say? Attachments:

It's so hilarious when they first start talking. Mine gabbers away non-stop now. He sounds like a "mini-me". It's a bit tragic really! You'll have to be careful what you say around Pickle from now on, because he may pick up all kinds of stuff that you don't want him to.

He is 16 weeks old, we have had him from 8 weeks, we got him from a breeder, who handles his birds from chicks. So we had a good start but we just chat to him all the time. I have tried to film him but unless there is other noise around he goes really quiet so everytime I try and record him he shuts up I have recorded him chatting away to himself but not saying anything in particular. I will try and find it though as its funny.

How adorable! Its always the way, when you want to film them they go all quiet! If you do manage to capture him talking on video tho, would love to see it

He only has you to listen to, so you have become his flock so to speak. It is lovely when they start to chat back; have fun with Pickles, Helen.

Brilliant, thats fantastic ! Bless they are amazing little creatures some speak very clearly, my first kiki did but When I started work again and didn't spend the time with him, he stopped! If there are more than one they generally (or never?) talk human talk but jabber away to each other in budgie speak .
