There are a lot of safe trees but budgies would dig it out from the roots. Cutting and hanging branches fresh every day would be better.

Ooooh been there with this one, i put a conifer, apple and a young willow and they were all destroyed within a week or two as BB said right down to the root . I just put branches now.

Such destructive little critters, budgies, when they like something! I haven't heard of anyone who has successfully kept a potted tree in an aviary with budgies.

Hi Julie, do you have (lots of!) room in your garden for a Eucalyptus tree? They grow so quickly and you can snip a few branches for your birds without spoiling the tree. They do grow quick and large though so need a lot of room. We had ours chopped back hard just over a year ago and it's as big as ever now. The thicker branches make great perches and swings too and of course it's evergreen so leaves all year round

No we dont have a lot of room which is the problem and all our back is slab paving to make it easier for cleaning up after the dogs , it gets hosed down everyday

You may have to take up early-morning walking with the dogs and a pair of secateurs. It's a good time for scavenging. ;D (Trust me, I know! )
