Thanks Ian, I've seen some of that in my local pet shop so I'll pick some up. Can that be used with the treatment of ivermectin on the effected bird? I've been reading up on the administration of the ivermectin and I've got to admit it has me worried! Seems like it's a risky dosage and needs to be done to an exact drop. Do you drop it onto the back of the neck on the feathers or do you ruffle the feather up and drop it directly on the skin? scaley lotion can be uesd along with ivermicetin no problem, paint it onto the infected area and also their feet, the perches need to be removed and either scrubbed with f10 or simular product or replaced ,as they rub their faces on them and transfer the mites to them. ivermicetin is dropped directly onto the skin at back of the birds neck not onto the feathers, i use the harkers stuff from the local pigeon food suppliers, it's a little stronger at 0.3% use every 6 months Also I have a Cockatiel in the other room, will I have to treat that? I've searched Google high and low for a Cockatiel dosage of Ivermectin and I can't even find confirmation that they suffer from Scaly face mite, does anyone know anything about this here? Thanks again. It certainly would'nt do any harm pervention is better than cure

Oh, good, everyone! I haven't had the dubious pleasure of mites (knock on wood) but thought that may have been the cause. I am glad that's been confirmed by more experienced keepers. Hope all goes well, Luke.

Thanks again everyone.
Hopefully that stuff will come early this week, it started a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't look like it progresses at a great speed so hopefully it'll be fine
Thanks a lot and I'll update you with any progress.

Hi Luke has your Ivermectin arrived yet? I hope the treatment goes well, Bubbles had scaly mites when I first got her but I wan't a forum member and therefore had none of the wealth of knowledge on here at my disposal. I had to pay vet prices for her treatment. She is fine now though thankfully, and Kiiro will be too. All the best with the treatment and don't forget to let us know how you fare

No it still hasn't arrived yet.
The F10SC, Johnson's mite spray have already arrived so I've cleaned the cage as much as possible aswell as giving Kiiro the vaseline treatment.
Hasn't got any worse so I'm pleased, just hoping the spot on treatment comes on Monday.
I'll let everyone know how it goes, thanks.

It finally arrived today, just want to make sure I've got it right.
These are my birds weights
Budgie weights
Kiiro - 37g Sweep - 37g Hewie - 41g Bertie - 38g
Cockatiel Weight
Rosey - 81g
Am I right that it'll 1 drop per Budgie and then 2 drops for the Cockatiel?
Just want to make sure it's right before I go ahead.
