I want a nice tame pet budgie and last week bought 2 hand reared youngsters as I have a generous sized cage. Now I'm wondering if they're just going to bond with each other rather than me, they are very happy together and not so pleased when I interfere. Should I maybe have stuck to just one or can I teach the pair to be friendly towards me? Thanks!

I'm sure you have you just have to spend some time and they will get used to you as well. We have 6 (now 7 but the new one us an adopted bird and has never been out of its cage and always been by his self so a bit diff). The 6 of then have now bonded with our selves and with each other so they will come to see us when they want but have each other to play with as well. It will take longer for them to get used to you when they have other budgie company but they are best kept in groups as they are flock birds

Hi Feed them a fairly plain diet of seeds for a week while you offer them the rest of their food ie fruit, veg, treats, by hand. This is the way to a birds heart, through his belly.....B.J.
