Beauty has been in the house in a cage on her own for nearly 2 weeks while she was ill and the last 2 days I have brought the cage downstairs and she has been chirping back and fo to Jenny and Olly . I dont know whether to keep her in or put her back with the others Hubby wants to put her back with the others and says to get Bobby up and put him in the cage with her for a few days then put the pair of them back together Bobby used to be caged with her before putting them out the aviary. I would like to keep her indoors as I have grown more attached to her through nursing her while she was ill and now she knows her name when I talk to her although she still doesnt like me from having to give her meds. What would you say is best to do ?

I suppose your right , but would Beauty be happier back with the others ? And If I did, would it be a good idea to get Bobby in with her for a few days rather than just put her back in there on her own..?

It's a tough one... I don't think there's much to be gained from bringing Bobby in though as it may distress him unnecesarily. As you'd be putting her back in with budgies she knows I'm sure she'd be fine to go in on her own. My worry though would be how cold it's got and she's been inside.... Perhaps someone else could tell you if this would be a bad idea or not, that might make the decision for you!

Thats what I was thinking , but I do have the oil filled radiator on on number 1 every night and being its on a thermostat it keeps the same temp . But she`s my precious little one now and just think I will worry over here . Then I think what is best for Beauty ? would she be happier with the others? Its so hard to know what is the right thing to do

Well I still have Beauty in the house , she is very fit and well and very active and I have her downstairs now where she can see Olly and Jenny and they chirp back and fo to each other, but she does go mental going back and fo in the side of the cage that's closest to them, So I am wondering am I being cruel that she is on her own in the cage and she wants company I am just so worried about putting her back down the shed incase she gets ill again and would it be stressful with all the others when she`s been used to being on her own ... Decisions .. decisions

I'd be inclined to do what Mick suggests Julie, I don't think I could put her back outside, especially this time of year.

Is bringing both Ollie and Jenny in an option? Then those two may just feel they are on adventure together and Beauty gets company? I would have said put Beauty back with the others and all will be well, but I don't have the cold factor on hand to consider, which the others have mentioned. Looks like you've a house budgie or two (or three) for a while.
