Hi Just had a look. It seems to be perfectly safe if you don't drink it..... It makes no big deal of being bird safe or pet friendly. so I would take the usual precautions.. B.J.

Thanks guys I know this came up recently in another thread but couldnt find it-hence the question of paint being asked again... It should be water based ,i know but should it be something else-low something or other? Also once the room is painted and dry how long before my little monster can go back in the room? He sleeps in there at night x

He sleeps in there at night x he can go in the room as soon as the smell is gone ... . put a washing up bowl in the room over night..... it will soke up most of the fumes ... tip it down the drain and then he can go in there.... ;D. but if you need to put him in the same night make sure its well ventilated and ..... dont leave his water in his cage over night.... it will absorb the fumes ....and thats not a good thing... it wont hert him to go without water for one night ...

Any paint which is marked as Low VOC's which stands for volatile organic compounds is the best sort to use generally as it has less impact on the environment, usually water based so hardly any odour and quick drying. Take as many precautions as you can for Elfie though while the paint is wet in the house, maybe even give him to someone you trust overnight... that's what I'd do I think...
