Definitely a hen. As for mutation, hmmm. I would have gone for grey for the body, but you say it's more green in real life? So maybe olive. Yellow face? Spangle? Clearflight? Damn, I'm confused this time! XD

We are still thinking of a suitable name as we have only had her 24hrs. She was very good sitting on her perch and allowing me to take close up pics with the camera inside her cage without panicking. Avery breed so not used to people. Any sugestions for a pretty name ?

Hi Janus, welcome to the forum. I would say she is definiteley a Spangle (in my limited experience) and you say she has 'lace' like wings how about Lacey for a name??

I would second that I think Lacey is really pretty .. I have a similar colour one I have called Tia because she reminds me of the colours of a cockatiel ;D

Yellow Face Opaline Spangle Olive (as you say it is olive in person) Female. She seems young, 5 to 6 months or older. As for the breeding, it depends on what colors are you looking for and what is the purpose of breeding.

Yes I like Lacey for a name, it kind of suits her. I will be having another aivary next year ( i keep a finches and canarys aivary ) with budgies this time. I would like to breed some of my own coloufull birds in blues, yellows, rainbows, pieds.
Would a pale sky blue opaline cock bird be a suitable colour. Bearing in mind I do not know the parents colours so may be surprised at what I get.
I was told that she is to young to live outside so Lacey will stay indoors for the time being and I will introduce a cock bird to her birdcage when I find a nice looking fella to keep her company. Maybe in the spring the two of them can go live in a breeding cage in the bird room/shed and let nature take its course
