Hello, ive been clipping my birds beaks for around 2 years now however as i worrie about getting the quick ive allways let the beaks get long first so i can see alot of clear bit befor clipping again (with eagles beak and feather diease that is about every 2-3 weeks if im lucky) However i had to have the vet do it last time as ada had stopped keeping her beak down when she was ill and her quick was realy long. Good thing i did as they said as soon as they started it bled but she has some gass befor hand and they finished and stopped the bleeding and she was happy after.
Anyway at the vets they are not allowed to clip due to risk of th ebeak splitting so they grind them. The problem im having now is ada's bead is growing as fast as eagles and i dont want to let it get as long as last time and have to go back to the vet and gass her agin.
So te other month i brought a bettery opperated pet nail filer, a cheap poundland version of these

www.amazon.co.uk/pedi-paws-groom-grooming-trimmer/dp/B0026RQ4E6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_petsupplies_3
I thought this would be an easyer and safer way of keeping there beaks down as i could do it regualry and not worrie about clippig to high or cracking. Ive tryed it a few times and only took a tiny bit off to try to get them use to it and eagle is fine with it, ada realy doesnt like it anywhere near her.
But i thought id run it past you more experanced guys on hear, do you think this would be ok to keep useing or would the vibrations hurt there beaks?
As i realy think a few seconds of that once a week would be much better then clipping every month or regular trips to the vets and gassing to grind them.
