Hi we're going to spray the new babies for mites as a precaution. What is best way to do this effectively without scaring the life out of them. They are only 6-7 wks old.

Its called finect. Its chemical free. Put it into a spray bottle of my own. Can't see mites but it was going to be a "just in case" but my friend who used to breed and keep budgies said I'd know if the babies had mites. So we will use it to spray all the wooden things preventatively. She told me they all seem very healthy. So that's good.

I second what Barrie says. I don't like the idea of spraying budgies with anything, too much of a chance of it getting into their lungs. Ivermectin 0.1 is so easy to use and safe

I bought it for the wooden things just to make sure they didn't get mites, and wasn't planning to spray the budgies. It's just that it says you can on the bottle. However i'm of the same opinion Barrie and Rachael that i didn't like the idea of it, which is why i asked. Glad i did. Theyre just about that age now, so will get onto it tomorrow and get it ordered. thanks guys

Makes you wonder why they are allowed to sell it. All the blurb made it sound great with the no chemicals slant in it. Haven't used it yet and had it for about 6 wks!!!

There are many bird products out there which are either not good or not required or useful. In the beginning I too bought many such products
