Ernie keeps nibbling at his claws and I am just checking whether this is normal or if I should be worried? Bert has tried to help him nibble them as we'll which was quite funny as Ernie couldn't get him to leave his foot alone and kicked him off the perch in the end. They are both very happy and eating well but best to be safe than sorry.

Feet look fine in the picture. Some times they clean their feet with the beak, especially when there is some poo stuck to it or the perches are dirty with dry droppings.

I agree with the others in that it is probably nothing to worry about. Mine bite at their feet quite often. But to be sure, check that they don't have any small white lumps on their feet and legs. This could be scaly mites. If it is only the claws that are being nibbled, and not the feet themselves, I would be confident that it isn't mites.

Thanks for the advice. He left alone after a while and seems to do it as part of his morning spruce up. I will keep an eye on his feet.

I am sure he is fine, Nina, but with these little guys it really does pay to be vigilant.
