Neither parent are recessive pied dad is dominant pied split ino mum is albino And this chick I'd so scatty it's unbelievable. I know it's strange that he's dominant pied with little colour anyone got ideas?

My guess is the parents are split recessive pied. You could wait to see if it develops iris rings and if its a cock, the cere will stay pink if its recessive pied.

Didnt think they could be split recessive I thought one parent had to be visual to get recessive chick pied Two normal budgies which split for Recessive Pied can produce Recessive Pied chicks. The breeding result would be something like this. 25% Recessive Pied 50% Normal (split for Recessive Pied) 25% Normal

I know it's strange that he's dominant pied with little colour anyone got ideas? This can be a DF Dominant Pied. Such budgies are almost all clear. They have irises while mature and males have blue ceres.

He could be df dominant pied but then that would have to mean the mum albino is masking dominant pied

Yes for a chick to be DF Dominant Pied, the Dominant Pied gene has to come from both parents.

Yes it's possible. An Ino may be masking Dominant Pied or Spangle etc.
