Oh gosh I feel so guilty, Pickle was sat on one foot and jumped to the other foot just as I was standing up and his two longest tail feathers were left on the floor, basically plucked out! He seems ok apart from shaking his bum a bit, its probably sore. I feel so gulity, he has only just finished moulting and growing these feathers, now he looks a bit stumpy! OMG!

Poor Pickle! But it really wasn't your fault, Helen ... And new feathers will grow in no time.

He is. He is preening sat on my hand as I type (one handed) and I can see a little bit of dried blood where they were but it doesnt seem to be bothering him, now he is chatting to radio as normal! Attachments:

Pickle is still a handsome little birdie. My Blueberry lost her tail feathers when she escaped from the cage. She looked like a little duck-butt. She was not pleased at all. Hugs to Pickle. The feathers will grow back soon.

I like that, BF - duck-butt Pickles, lol. ;D It does happen, Helen. Our first budgie, Bluey, used to love foraging around on the floor. We did get used to looking around corners before we put our big feet down, but in the early days he lost his tail feathers too from someone not paying enough attention. It didn't affect him at all, he just looked stumpy.
