While I was out tonight my daughter in law dropped my xmas present my apple tree down , When I camev in hubby said your tree is out the bathroom , when i saw it i could have cried its nothing more than a bloody twig with its roots tied in a bag it had come in a big cardboard box because my daughter in law had ordered it online , Its a scrawny thing that will take years to grow any branches, by the time its a tree and not a twig i probably be too old to keep budgies, I am gutted to be honest as we have the whyvale garden centre just down the road and The Range is also on our doorstep and where I had seen just the one I wanted, so I will be going over there tomorrow to buy it myself , I had told my son and daughtr in law i wanted a nice bushy one with a lot of branches for the budgies but I got a skinny twigg

Its in the bath at the moment and every time I go out the bathroom and see it its annoying me , so the quicker its put in the pot outside the better ,....I have researched the growth rate of apple trees and its about 3-4 years before it will even grow any branches for the budgies to be able to perch on

Awww, well you know what they say, if you want anything done, do it yourself . I have to warn you though the big one will be like that before you know it when the buds get hold of it, but they will enjoy doing it .

What are you planning to do with the bigger tree? Are you going to put it in a pot in the aviary? Will it survive the onslaught of the budgies?

Here it is before I potted it it should be fine .... i no its smaller than you wanted ... but keep it out of the aviary ... and it will grow into a nice apple tree ... . infact i wouldnt put any tree in your aviary ... as the budgies will kill it in no time at all .. just harvest branches ..to put in there ...

The tree will need leaves to be able to grow - the whole respiration thing that plants do, it's all part of their survival. The budgies will eventually kill the tree if it isn't given time out to recuperate periodically.
