I got a baby budgie about 8 months ago, he has always had a slight wease when he breathes, i took him to the vets but he said the bird was eating, flying, and looking ok it is probalbly genetic. This last week it has developed into a chesty rattle, any advice until I can get him to the vets please?

Have you treated him with Ivermectin? It could be air sac mites and a dose of Ivermectin would be the first thing to try for him.

You can get it from the vets, but generally you will pay less by buying it online as you won't need to take the bird in to the vets and pay a consultation charge. Your last vet could have well been correct in diagnoosis if your other bird hasn't picked up any symptoms, but treating with ivermectin anually is a good precaution anyway :-)
