My cock bird has lost feathers around vent and there is some evidence of bleeding/scabs. Sometimes he seems ok and sometimes he doesn't. Does any one any idea whats wrong with him? Thanks

Hi Carol , often this is caused by hard droppings sticking to the vent feathers , apply a thin layer of savlon to the area , we cannot rule out mites so a run to the pet store for some "spot on" is required

Oh dear, just gone to administer the medication and follow Barries instructions and it seems that the area around the vent is lumpy and quite hard, there are two quite nasty sores which are deep. Still done the savlon and "spot on" anyway.

You may need to see a vet for some antibiotic cream Carole
