Have got to admit I am in two minds!!! I have two male budgies, intended to get four but only two were available at the time. I am soon to go and get two more buds from the same breeder, and I was going to get another two males. My two don't like each other much, they sit together but that's all. I've had them four months now. Soooooo, do I get two more males or shall I get females? The new buds will be 12 weeks old. Any advice you can give will be much appreciated.

Why not see which budgies call to you when you go to choose two? I don't mean literally call by the way haha! ;D People say that males are easier to tame, less bitey, but then females can be calmer, but grumpy. Girls also make less noise than boys I always advise to have either equal numbers or less girls than boys because females can be quite possessive and this can lead to squabbles. Anyway, what I am basically trying to say is that you could get two girls, two boys, or one of each, it all depends on how they will fit in with the others. Maybe watch them for a little while to see what their personalities are like

Yes don't rush your choice, if the budgie chooses you it's meant to be. How exciting to be getting some more birds!

Oooh this is all very exciting, i would also say go with your heart, im not sure that you could go wrong having two boys they are very adaptable ;D. You will notice a difference between the girls and boys, my girls are very busy, always on the look out to destroy ;D and quite bossy, they are quieter than boys as Rachael said. When Inca is introduced i will have three girls and two boys .
