Mmmmm, I would still say girl because of the crusty cere but it is hard to tell and do see what you mean. What would confirm it for me is the fact you are wearing a plaster...is that from where you got bit?!

No, not bitten, Sam. That was where the grass got me! My other index finger is still wearing the scars of the day or two after. Now I take a pair of scissors. But Misty's cere was always showing pale nostrils, but the whole of the cere is now looking more blue.

We thought that about Mont when we got her, but it is so tricky to tell. One minute you think one thing then.... ALL CHANGE! Silly question... but is Misty very vocal? I.e. does she sound like a screechy hen or a warbling cock?! I hope that makes sense cause I think sometimes you can tell by their song as well? Food for thought!

C'mon people. Please. Don't be scared. Vocal, Sam??? Misty does the lot! The screechy chikking to the warbling. S/he does NOT bite, though ...... I know all hens aren't Smudgie-like but Misty doesn't even give a decent bite when I catch hold of her.

Now I really am confused Suppose now its a case of having an open mind and see what happens! Whatever s/he is, Misty is certainly a S T U N N I N G bird, I loved Misty the first time you showed pics

Difficult! I thought initially boy when I saw the purple cere. But then one of the photos shows it as a little crusty and brown. How old is Misty? I changed the title to ensure more responses Hope you don't mind..

Mind? Not at all, Marianne. The trouble is I couldn't get a definitive answer from the breeder regarding Misty's age. I have had her for 4 months, and she had already had her first moult, at least. The purpley colour is probably the truer colour (it isn't crusty) and now the blue is showing. The more I look at these pnotos, the more boy I am seeing.

Crumbs Hezz i thought i was having a moment with my Inca but this one is very confusing, you see i would say a boy as well but then there is the faintest white round the nostrils. I thought i had a heshe but looks like it could be you . Time will tell with Misty i think.

I'm glad Barrie has sorted that one out. It is definitely confusing.
