Hey, can anyone tell me whether the bird in my pic is male or female. I bought this one (Mia) thinking it was female but now I'm not so sure lol. Thanks for the help!

Is it the bird in your avatar pic? It looks like a yellow face recessive pied. If it is a recessive pied then the cere of the male will never turn blue as it does with other colour mutations, but will go a deep dark pink colour. If it is female the cere will either be whiteish, brown, or pale blue with white rings around the nares. Like a normal female of any other colour mutation really. Its hard to tell the cere colour from the pic. Maybe you could put up an enlarged pic?

I would say its pinky Whitey pale blue at the minute lol. I'm hoping it is a female but she seems more friendly than the male? I'm not sure if I can upload bigger pics using iPhone?

Realy need a closer pic, if you can get one of both of them, perhaps its the other way round, Kevin sounds more like a female in behaviour

I agree with Nat about the cere color.
With reference to your fourth post, it is a little tricky to see if the budgie is young. If it is pink only, it is a male. And if it has some white beside pink, it is a female. It's just like sexing young Inos.

Yeh it is pink but it has a white shimmer over the top with a light tint of blue. I don't know how to post pics using iPhone. I don't think I can.

I find some are so much easier to sex than others with the inos and recessives Budgiesbuddy I could have a box of 5 and be 100% sure on the sex of 4 before fledging, but don't you find theres always the odd one who keeps changing lol :-) Especially when I've promised a male to somebody and they name it Fred or something while in the nestbox, then just before they come to pick him up he turns out a she! My first recessive pied I named Lulu!

The shop assistant said they were 8-10 weeks I think in the cage I chose em from. But Kevin looks older than Mia in my opinion

Can be so hard to tell at that age. I think the telltale sign of a female will be any paler colour around the nares. You say 'pinky, whitey, pale blue....sounds like a female. If the cere colour is pink even right through then male and could even have a deep mauve tinge, but then to be honest they can start off quite light in colour then darken. Hard to tell sex by behaviour at a young age as they are too immature to show any obvious behavioural differences. I shall try and find some pics of young recessive pied ceres :-) There is also a possibility he/she is a double factor dominant pied which would mean in time if hes a 'he' he will get a blue cere eventually.

Ah we'll I will just have to cross my fingers and hope. I really can't tell myself at the minute lol. I'm hoping it is a girl tho. I would like to try a bit of breeding at some point. Thanks for the help
