I suppose its to be expected having 30 budgies of varying ages, but it seems to be one horrid waiting game after another as far as these untreatable health issues go :-( Having just lost Molly today, I have noticed that the bulge on the vent of a rehome hen named Percy has got bigger! She still seems in fine health otherwise, but here we go again Polly and Suey have had bad poops frequently but it clears on its own..........but why are they getting them? Juliet the celestial is laying eggs all over the place as usual and munching through cuttlebone like theres no tomorrow. Back on daily calcivet now. And she has a beak that needs trimming every fortnight it grows so quick! Last time she layed like this she nearly died and had to be syringe fed with guardian angel for a couple of days. Nutnut the hahns is plucking away frantically as usual and won't eat his veg or eggfood. Peggy is copying him as she thinks its a fashion statement to be bald The French Moulter Bozs claws need trimming. No problem with any other budgie, but if this guy is handled he seizures and passes out for getting on an hour! Freddies been holding his own with his tumour for so long now, but it seems like every day brings a new turmoil with someone or other. Sorry, just ranting probably as I'm a bit sad about Molly. Thank goodness I gave up my evening work shift so I have some time to deal with it all! But first I'm going to have a stiff drink ;-)

Big feathery hugs to all of them. It's ok to feel sad about Molly. Hope you feel better soon.

Most normal I'll ever get ;-)

Ah, Nat! Birds eh??? Freddie is doing so well with his continued longevity. Remember we all thought you were going to lose him and next thing we know he is a Dad again! That's one little budgie who has survived against the odds. Tumours are a horrible thing, and there is no telling who is going to be the unlucky one. I guess what I am trying to say is that (especially with rehomed birds) you have to take the good with the bad ....... I feel the same. Bluey lost his fight with a tumour at 6 and a half; Smudge now has preening gland issues (possible tumour) only 3yo; next comes Sparky ... so far so good, too quick, he's 2yo (nothing can catch him, including me ) Fluoro and Misty together - Fluoro only lasted with me 4 months, and Misty can't make up his/her mind what sex s/he is!!! Glad your OH was able to pull you out of your funk, but sorry to hear about Molly. Hugs to you, anyway. xx
