hi ... i m breeding budgies ..... i m facing a problem from last two clutches that when chicks are ready to come out of the box their feather starts falling.... its happening to half of my pairs... chicks r normal n health but the become able to fly after an extra month or so..... can any one help me y this is happening.... i m giving good food too

It sounds like you have the French moult virus in the aviary.

You have to disinfect the aviary, including the nest boxes. Use animal friendly disinfectant. The cause is unknown so cleaning is a precaution to perhaps minimise the reinfection of other birds. Read the link below to find out more. edis.ifas.ufl.edu/vm043

You need to stop breeding asap and give the birds a good three month break. As advised disinfect everything.

this is caused by stress as the adults withold food to encourage the chicks to feed themselves, feed extra protein to help these new feathers to regrow...................

Also a cause of flight feather dropping in chicks is dehydration for the same reason as Barrie says. Parents withold food which also contains water and the chicks don't find the water source. Can be helped by quite literaly putting the tips of their beaks in the water bowl to have a taste and always leaving a shallow water dish in the same place where you have shown them. On the floor if necessary or if they are able to get around the cage then a drinker on the wire is ok.
