hi there... i want to breed lutino crested budgies..... for that i had pair up a full round male (dark green) and a normal lutino budgie female.... my expectation is to get males from this breed which would be split for lutino's .... n if at the same time the chick get crested gene too, from father then can i say that the mission is accomplished that is to have a male which is crestbred n split for lutino also.... if this male is paired up with the crested female can i get lutino crested budgies? plz share ur experience.... n correct me if i m wrong ... coz i know very little about budgie genetics... just a new comer

A full Crest Green male and a Lutino female will give you...
50% Green (Half of which be split for Ino) 50% Green Crested (Half of which be split for Ino)

These genetics are very complicated. To make it simple...
Crest budgie × Crest budgie pairing produces highest number of Crested budgies. Crest budgie × Crest-bred budgie pairing produces next highest number of Crested budgies. Crest budgie × Normal budgie pairing produces Crests but mostly produces Crest-breds and Normals. Crest-bred budgie × Crest-bred budgie and Crest-bred budgie × Normal budgie pairing produces occasional Crested budgies.

now plz tell me ...... i have to crested females which nearly ready to breed.... i want to pair them up with split lutino cocks both cocks are danish pied too.... is it a good idea to get crested lutino budgies or not? plz share ur comments
