Can budgies eat the seed heads from ornamental grasses? I have seeds for "bunny tails" and "pennesetum cream falls" If I get them to grow will they be ok for the birds?

No idea. Maybe someone from the UK can help.

I'm not sure about UK/European grasses either, or ornamental ones. Have a look through and bookmark this excellent guide to budgie foods created by a forum member. There are many northern hemisphere grasses with photos that are suitable for budgies. www.adnort.webs.com/My_html_Cookery_BookE.html

Thanks Stace. That is a good article, very useful. I think I will plant the grasses and see if the wild birds are interested, then I will know if they are edible. I'm going to grow some millet too, is the wild birds don't eat it all there may be some left for the budgies.
