I'm not overly keen on the hanging feeders to use as a sole feed source because if a bird starts to be unwell they will probably not be able to get to the feeder. There is such a small time window with a sick bird that you don't want to make that window even smaller by not having them be able to eat for a few hours. I would say if you use these, also offer an alternative feeding site :-) But otherwise I can imagine the buds loving it. I know a few of mine would like the dangling alternative to feasting :-)

I wouldn't be able to have hanging feeders as the only choice in the aviary Nat. My French moult boy wouldn't be able to get to it and neither would my cockatiels. It's a good point though, one I've never thought of.

I love the pics Julie :-) Your aviary looks so clean and bright! Is it an indoor aviary? Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I assumed you didn't use other feeders.

Its only a small indoor at the moment but we have had panals made since xmas for an outside flight which will be 9ft x3ft .We have been held up with the weather and my gran being in hospital for 11weeks she only came home monday ( she is 95) We need to build a curb for the panals to sit on to stop the wood wrotting as we hose the back down every day after the dogs. So fingers crossed we get some decent weather shortly as I can't wait to see them out in the outside aviary.
