Chicks leave nest box at roughly 28 days old. Keep an eye on them as the hen can hurt and even kill him. How old is the youngest chick?

If you are not going for another clutch, you can remove the nest box after a few days. Otherwise put the eldest chick in another cage with the cock and he will feed him.

thanks BB. I'm not going to let her go for another clutch until the end of this year now - she didnt hatch any of the first clutch and has had 3 out of this 2nd clutch so i don't want to stress her anymore by letting her go again. The 2nd chick has come out of the box aswell now so there's only 1 left she's done very well bringing them up on her own. I'm well proud of her

put a chicky hide in the cage .......on the floor ......fill it with shavings ...and the chick should go in it and be safe....if need be you put the chick in there .... here are 2 types i hope this helps .... if you cut one out of a marg tub ...leave the rim intacked its stronger....
