I don't think I would buy this cage. The price is not cheap and the base needs to be completely removed to clean it. I think I would look around some more.... Just my opinion, of course.

Look for a Montana indoor aviary- I think they come with built in legs, or wheels or something...

They will never use the bottom so most of it is wasted space Ernest is pants at flying an in the old tall cage struggled to get lift and would just land with crash . I was think the one I have seen because its wide

Lizb is right I would never go for a taller cage. Wider is what every one should look for

How about making your own? This is the first one I made. A chest of drawers from a charity shop makes a cheap and stand and provides storage for all your budgie bits :-) Pros of wood DIY - you can customise it to suit your requirements and room. Its cheap and adaptable if you want to extend at a later date. The ply at the back and one side cut down on bird seed mess in the room which when you have a flight size cage will be much more, as the birds scatter more mess as they are flying than they would if they were climbing around a cage. Cons- The girls did munch on the wood at the front a bit but caused no great damage. Addition of plenty of chewable brances rectified this problem. Also,(even shop bought cages/aviarys non DIY ) is even indoors you are more likely to attract red mite as they nest in the wood joins so you need to treat the wood with an antimite solution every few months.

Oh I love that cage/aviary nat! That's what I'm aiming to make, something similar anyway Oh and do they actually drink from the blue water bottle there? Good luck with your aviary or cage, lizb. Sorry I can't help.

I personally prefer plastic and metal because they are ten times easier to clean

Thanks Birdbrain :-) Yep, they all drink from the hamster bottles :-) It certainly makes life easier not worrying about dirty water :-)
