My Aviary was built on a concrete base, which luckily has a drain in the corner to take all of the waste away. Every week I hose it out and the refuse runs down the drain hole, easy. The aviary itself is a pre-fab aluminium sheeting set up, works well in a moderate climate, but maybe not so at freezing point temperatures. Fully enclosed on the roof, and 2 sides, walls half way up on the other 2 sides, wire from middle to top there, and a half door, which is important as the birds head to the top of the walls when you enter, if your door id full height, you will lose a few a year that way. The benefit with aluminium walls is that mice can't as easily scurry up the walls and into nest boxes. Years ago i had a wooden framed aviary and a dirt floor and had endless issues with rodents, but not now. I can hose the aviary out and disinfect very easily.
