Personally I would say it's a bit small for two... see what everyone else thinks though, don't take my word for it!!

We're now divided about whether it'd be big enough or not-it doesn't seem quite as small as I first imagined now we've had the tape measure out! It may be ok if they get lots of out time, but I'm really not sure. Get bigger if you can stretch to it space and price wise I suppose! Sorry, not much help are we?!

Blade, I think it is a bit small for two. But I am definitely in the bigger-is-better camp. I encourage people to get the biggest cage that their budget and their space allows for. A cage cannot be too big; it can definitely be too small.

Ok thanks for getting back to me. The Hagen vision I was getting has gone back up to full price of £72 which is why I'm looking around.

Hope I am not too late to add my humble opinion....would say that it does depend on the size of bird too i.e. even though we bought a Ferplast Piano 6 for 4 birds, some of the items we bought were to small for them. Plus with toys and other parafanalia makes the cage smaller too. If you have smaller birds it may be suitable, but the larger bred birds could find it very cramped! So would have to agree with Hezz, buy the biggest you can afford and you wont regret it hope that helps!

I know this post is a couple of months old, but I've been trying to read as much as possible before getting a budgie (I haven't got one atm).
I have this cage - I got it for my budgie Precious who my parents adopted 10 years ago. She was a small bird and I always thought it was plenty big enough for her. I'm older now and starting again with budgies. I intended to get 1 budgie - do you think this is big enough for one? We're at home (or at least one of us is) 3 full days out of 7 so the new budgie will be able to free fly from morning until bedtime 3 days a week (sometimes more days) and then for 6 or 7 hours the other 4 days.
I know that budgies like company, but is it really bad to have just one if I can spend the time I've said above with it? And if one is ok, will this cage be suitable for spending the rest of the time in?
I'm not opposed to buying another cage - but I was going to use this as a starter cage.
Please feel free to correct me - I have rabbits and guinea pigs too and I've always tried to make sure I do the best for them and I want to do the same with my budgie when I get it.

Zofia, have a read through this thread. No one can really make a call on this except yourself, as no one else has the inside info needed. Also I am not sure which cage you are referring to as being suitable for your new friend. budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/750/budgie-friend

Price drop on cages by this supplier.... Cheaper cages - 23rd May 2013I imagine that you've already chosen and purchased by now blade100 but it might be of use to someone else, perhaps.

I think his cage is fine for now but I'll probably get a new one in the next couple of months because the original ferplast one is really old.
